Root Canal treatment is advised when tooth’s nerve has had trauma or is decayed and/ or infected. In some cases, depending on how badly infected the tooth may be, antibiotics are given in order to decrease the infection and swelling before treatment is completed. Root Canal Treatment should not cause discomfort, however if an abscess is present it may become difficult for the Novocain (numbing agent) to work, which is why most Root Canal Treatments are associated with discomfort. Do not hesitate to let us know if you are in any distress during your treatment.
